Interests: Zero Waste Living, following women's artistic gymnastics

CP read out the DAF.

1. Asked about an extra-curricular activity (conference on Technology & Social Justice).

2. You mentioned gender equality. Can you give me an example of how technology can be used for that?

3. What is Zero Waste Living (from DAF)? I have heard of minimalism. How is ZWL different?

4. You must know about Dipa Karmakar (from DAF). Why don't we have more Dipa Karmakars? What's wrong with gymnastics and sports in India?

M1:

1. The society is becoming modern, yet we find caste and community becoming important. Why?

2. Imagine you are an administrator. The people working under are you are engaged in some unethical activity. What would you do? Your boss is also unethical. Then what would you do?

3. Asked about the NSSO job data not being released. What would you do if you were advising the govt?

M2: 

1. The MeToo movement saw some prominent people being targetted, who were forced to resign. And there were some complaints from women who brought up incidents that were 20y old. Do you think that is fair?

2. There are increasing cases of divorce in India. What do you think this signifies?

M3:

1. Do you think more cases of divorce can be equated with women's independence?

2. Do you think inter-caste marriages help or hurt the prevalence of caste system?

3. How many tribes are there in India?

4. What are your views on bringing tribes into the fold of the mainstream society? You must have read about the incident involving the man who went to Andaman Islands? Should we integrate the Sentinelese?

5. Do you know about what happened at the recent Indian Science Congress? Where was it held? What was said there?

6. Do you think religion is helping bind the country today or making things worse?

M4:

1. You've studied in India and the UK. What were the differences you noticed?

2. What would you change about Indian colleges? (I said something about autonomy) If you are put in charge of the govt department that is responsible for this (autonomy), how would you go about it?

3. You mentioned the Indian Human Development Survey (IHDS) earlier (I had quoted data from it in the inter-caste marriage answer). What does it measure?

4. What is HDI? What does it measure? What is India's rank? Why is it so low?

5. Have you been preparing for the exam since you finished your masters?
